Tryptic Soy Contact Agar with Neutralizer A - ICRplus is used for total viable count of microorganisms on dry, disinfected surfaces.
The formulation of the basic medium complies with the recommendation of the current European and United States Pharmacopoeia (EP and USP) for Tryptic Soy Agar. To inactivate a broad range of different disinfectants, the medium is supplemented with a mixture of active ingredients called Neutralizer A.
Some of these disinfectants can not be inactivated by the commonly used neutralizers lecithin, Tween 80, histidine, and sodium thiosulfate.
