New Tryptic Soy Contact Agar with Neutralizer A

heipha Dr. Müller GmbH is introducing a new medium for environmental monitoring of disinfected surfaces:

TSA Contact + Neutralizer A - ICRplus (reference number 822).

The detection of microorganisms in the presence of residua of disinfectants with antimicrobial activity requires so called neutralizers. A broad spectrum of residua of disinfectants can be neutralized by the well known neutralizers lecithin, Tween 80, histidine and sodium thiosulfate (LTHTh). But unfortunately there is a lack for neutralization of some specific active agents such as polymeric biguanides, some quaternary ammonium compounds and several specific mixtures of chemical substances. The new heipha plate is able to inactivate also such disinfectants.

The medium is offered the 55 mm contact plate with lockable lid, triple-bagged and gamma irradiated for use in clean rooms and isolators.
